Zifa investigating bribes scandal

The Zimbabwe Football Association president Felton Kamambo says it has instituted investigations into allegations that coaches are asking for bribes from players before signing them.

Speaking on Supersport on Thursday night where he is on a familiarisation tour of South African Football Association best practices, Kamambo admitted that there are a lot of coaches who are demanding money upfront from players.

“We have instituted some investigations. It’s something that we are going to look into,” said Kamambo.

Recently, ZPC Kariba coach Godfrey Tamirepi was in the eye of a storm facing allegations of inflating sign-on-fees as well as charging players to sign for his team. However, reports say a number of coaches other than Tamirepi are corrupt and are taking bribes from players.
