Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has been charged by UEFA for his obscene gesture during Champions League clash with Juventus last week.

Simeone turned to his team’s fans and grabbed his crotch after defender Jose Maria Gimenez opened the scoring late in the 2-0 round of 16 first-leg win.

Juventus, along with their coach Massimiliano Allegri, also faces an improper conduct charge for his team being late on the field for kick-off.

Atletico could face further action for the behaviour of their fans, who are accused of throwing objects and blocking stairways at Wanda Metropolitano.

The second leg in Turin will be played on March 12.
