Dynamos clinch Charity Challenge Cup as Chicken Inn thrash Bosso in friendly

Dynamos clinched the Charity Challenge Cup after beating CAPS United 2-0 on Sunday at National Sports Stadium.

The Glamour Boys walked away with $20 000 while the Green Machine got $15 000 for finishing second.

35-year old Edward Sadomba opened the scoring in the 14th minute at the time United were dominating possession. Young Ngandu Mangala followed up with another goal on minute 35 to double the advantage going into the break.

Sadomba and Mangala continued to combine well, causing more problems up front.

The Green Machine, on the other end, only recorded their first attempt on target in the second half, and their performance throughout the game was just average.

In Bulawayo, Chicken Inn thrashed Highlanders 4-0 in a friendly match played at Barbourfields Stadium.

The encounter was supposed to be a ZNA Charity Shield final but the organisers, the Zimbabwe National Army, pulled out last week.

Bosso started well and created some good chances but failed to find the back of the net. However, it was Sipho Ndlovu who broke the deadlock on the 36th minute to put the Gamecocks in the lead.

Highlanders tried to come back into the game, but Innocent Muchaneka got the second goal on the hour before Nicole Mutatiwa made it three on minute 88. Muchaneka got his brace in the added time to seal the triumph.
