Update on Young Warriors camp

The national U23 side has started preparations for the back-to-back second-round fixtures of the 2019 U23 Afcon Qualifiers against Mozambique.

The Young Warriors start off with an away game in Maputo on the 22nd of March before hosting their neighbours at National Sports Stadium four days later.

Coach Tonderai Cidzambwa named a provisional squad early this week, consisting of a large pool of local-based players. There are some youngsters plying their trade in Europe and the USA while a few are based in South Africa.

Those based in Zimbabwe are already in camp except for three Harare City players who will join on Monday along with the foreign contingent.

“U-23 preparations for back-to-back AFCON qualifiers against Mozambique are underway,” Zifa said in a statement. “Local-based players are in camp, save for Harare City players currently on tour with their club.”
