Several clubs risk travelling for home games as Zifa approves nine stadiums

Only nine stadiums have been homologated by ZIFA ahead of the 2019 Premier Soccer League season that begins this weekend.

In Harare, National Sports Stadium and Rufaro Stadium have been given the green light to host league matches while Bulawayo has Barbourfields and Luveve.

Ngezi Platinum Stars’ Baobab Stadium and F Platinum’s Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane are also fit to host the games while Nyamhunga in Kariba, Colliery in Hwange and Gibbo in Triangle complete the list.

Clubs like Chapungu United and league debutants TelOne will have to shift to another base should Ascot Stadium fails to get approval before the season. Manica Diamond are also at risk to travel for their home games as Sakubva Stadium in Mutare or Vengere in Rusape is not on the list.
