It was worth it considering where we’re coming from: Madinda

Highlanders coach Madinda Ndlovu was satisfied with a point against Black Rhinos in a season opener on Sunday.

Bosso had disastrous preparations to the campaign after players refused to go into camp, demanding their unpaid salaries. They started their campaign with a 1-1 draw away in Harare.

“We had challenges in the pre-season, and we had not worked out our tactics as a team yet. Coming out and fighting having been a goal down to salvage a point is something we should give credit to the boys for,” said Madinda.

Black Rhinos took the lead in the 33rd minute courtesy of Moses Demera’s well taken close-range strike. Goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda then saved the day for the visitors in the 68th minute when he converted a penalty following a handball incident in the box.
