Zifa is facing a heavy punishment after the country pulled out of hosting the 2019 COSAFA Cup in February and was supposed to appear before a Disciplinary Committee today in Johannesburg.
According to the Herald, the matter will now be determined next Thursday.
The association’s communications manager, Xolisani Gwesela, told the newspaper yesterday that they have asked for the postponement so that they get more time to prepare for the appeal.
“We have written to Cosafa asking for the postponement of the hearing so that they allow us time to prepare for the hearing.
“I can confirm that our request has been granted and the hearing will now be done on April 11. Since the matter is still before the Cosafa Disciplinary Committee, I will not comment further than this.
Meanwhile, the tournament is still scheduled to run from May 25 to June 8 it’s now hanging in the balance following the gaffe.
