Mugoni, Nyoni and Augusto setting the pace in Golden boot race

Clive Augusto seems to have settled well at Chicken Inn if the performance in the opening two games is anything to consider.

The forward joined the Gamecocks in the pre-season from Ngezi Platinum Stars where he managed four goals in the whole season. But after two games in this campaign, he is now one goal short from equaling his 2018 tally, and it’s something he should be proud of.

Chapungu duo of Ian Nyoni and Brighton Mugoni are also on three goals after match-day 2.

To see how tight the race has started, all the three players scored a brace in the opening round of the 2019 season. Nyoni and Mugoni hit the target twice in the 5-0 victory over Bulawayo Chiefs while Augusto also found the back of the net two times as his side defeated ZPC Kariba 3-1.

Dynamos striker Ngandu Mangala, Black Rhinos’ Moses Demera and FC Platinum’s Ali Sadiki follow in second on the scoring chart with two goals each.

Here is the leading pack on the scoring chart after Match-day 2
Clive Augusto (Chicken Inn) -3 Goals
Ian Nyoni (Chapungu) – 3 Goals
Brighton Mugoni (Chapungu) – 3 Goals
Moses Demera (B. Rhinos) – 2 Goals
Ngandu Mangala (Dynamos) – 2 Goals
Ali Sadiki (FC Platinum) – 2 Goals
