We are still to reach top form: Madinda

Highlanders technical manager Madinda Ndlovu says his charges are yet to reach top form, two games into the new season.

Bosso had their preparations to the 2019 season disrupted by player strikes and only got down to business in the same week the league started. They have drawn both of their opening games and are facing a tricky encounter against Harare City who are yet to pick up a point this campaign.

Speaking ahead of the trip to the capital this weekend, Madinda, however, says there is no need to cry over that issue but will keep focused on improving the team’s match fitness.

“Winning is not only by words from the mouth but by the procedures that you had gone through in the preparations for the whole season because we don’t train for one match,” Madinda said.

“It’s not a hidden agenda that we had issues that disrupted our preparations, so we are slightly behind in terms of our match fitness. But no need to cry over spilt milk, we will do what we can as we go through the season.

“We don’t have major injuries in the squad (ahead of the Harare City game). Our biggest worry is that we are not yet at the level we are supposed to be at the start of the season.”
