FC Platinum draw delights Mushowani coach

Mushowani coach Newman Mashipe was delighted after his side picked its first ever point in the Premier Soccer League on Monday at the expense of reigning champions FC Platinum.

The Premiership new boys played to a 2-2 draw at Rufaro Stadium. Evans Katema’s penalty moments before the break and Blessing Phiri strike in the second half levelled FC Platinum’s goals which came from Elvis Moyo and Never Tigere.

Speaking after the match, Mashipe said: “I think we did well to get the point against a team with quality players and a good coach, it was our first point in the Premiership after three games, and I am happy with the performance from the boys today.”

Mushowani had lost the opening games, first to Dynamos before going down again against Ngezi Platinum Stars in Round Two of the campaign.

They have moved one place up to 16th position and will face Manica Diamonds in their next match on Monday.
