We tried every trick, says Madinda after Triangle loss

Highlanders technical director, Madinda Ndlovu says they tried every trick in the book but failed to recover against Triangle United on Monday.

The Sugar Boys beat Bosso for the first time at Barbourfields Stadium, taking home a 1-0 victory, thanks to a first-half goal by Nyasha Chintuli.

Speaking after the match, Madinda admitted that it wasn’t their day after creating many chances which they failed to convert.

“If we watched the same game, you would agree with me that we applied all the principles of football, but it was certainly not our day,” said Ndlovu.

“We created scoring chances, with Godfrey one-on-one with the keeper and he misses, Ray Lunga again and the keeper saves. You can see it wasn’t our day.”

Bosso had a slow first half and went to the break trailing after Chintuli capitalised on a defensive mix-up between keeper Ariel Sibanda and centre back Peter Muduhwa in the 27th minute.

The Bulawayo Giants tried to recover but missed their chances with Godfrey Makaruse and Ray Lunga failing to beat the keeper in 1-v-1 situations. Brian Banda also fluffed a chance late in the game.
