Young Warriors invited to Germany – Report

Young Warriors have been invited for a fourteen-day tour of Germany where they will play a couple of practice matches.

According to the Herald, the GeBe Sports and Education International who are based in Hamburg, Germany, recently invited coach Tonderai Ndiraya and his team to visit the European country from May 12 – 26. The tour was facilitated by UK-based junior coach Philip Zulu.

The visit will see Zimbabwe playing lower Bundesliga teams like HSV Hamburg, St Pauli Hamburg, Holstein Keil and VfB Lubeck which is home to Zimbabwean duo of Shama Bako and Seth Patrick.

However, Zifa spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela says they are yet to receive an official communication from GeBe Foundation. But Zulu has revealed that the organisers will soon send another official invitation letter to the Zifa Secretariat.

Should the proposed tour materialised, it will be a good preparatory platform for the Young Warriors ahead of their Under-23 Afcon qualifier against South Africa in June.
