CAPS look to stretch unbeaten run

Harare giants CAPS United face Harare City at the National Sports Stadium this afternoon with their tails up after a brilliant start to the season which has seen their faithful daring to dream.

The Lloyd Chitembwe-coached side and Norman Mapeza’s F.C Platinum are the only teams yet to taste defeat in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League this season and Makepekepe can go within just a point behind the Platinum miners with a victory this afternoon despite playing a game less.

The Green Machine are on 10 points from four outings and their controversial goalless draw away to struggling Highlanders remains the only time they have dropped points so far. They will be buoyed by the return to fitness of midfielder Ronald Chitiyo who came on as a substitute last week in the 4-1 mauling of Bulawayo Chiefs, after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

At the other hand, Harare City have been blowing hot and cold this term and are fresh from a 2-1 home defeat to army side Black Rhinos in the previous round. Mark Harrison’s men will be desperate to return to winning ways.

The match kicks off at 1500hrs.
