CLPSL Preview: Dynamos vs ZPC Kariba – Ndiraya’s homecoming

Tonderai Ndiraya returns to Rufaro Stadium for the first time after assuming the role of the head coach over a week ago in his second spell at Dynamos, facing ZPC Kariba.

Ndiraya, who took charge of his first game last week and managed a 1-1 draw against TelOne, will be hoping to put a better show in front of the Vietnam faithful and steer the team to its first victory in five matches across all competitions.

But he will have to do it without the services of Claude Junior (injury) and defender Godfrey Mukambi who is serving a red card ban while Vincent Mbega is a doubt after suffering a knock during the week.

Captain Edward Sadomba returns from suspension and will be available for selection.

The encounter poses a tough test for the gaffer and his charges when also considering how the visitors have been performing in the previous rounds.

Kauya Katurutura are riding on a four-match winning run and currently sit in the third position. Their defence has only conceded once in the streak and scored a modest five goals.

And this form and Dynamos’ relatively weak squad have left Ndiraya conceding that they are up for a real challenge.

“ZPC Kariba will be a huge challenge. Our team is comprised of inexperienced players, we have mostly players that have come from Division One,” he said.

“They have players with loads of experience and have been playing together for a long time. In fact, they have been strengthening with each season.”

The match kicks off at 3 pm.

Head-to-head stats:
Dynamos have a slight edge in dominance as they have won three of the ten meetings while ZPC Kariba have two.

Dynamos: P-10, W-3, D- 5, L-2
ZPC Kariba: P-10, W-2, D-5, L-3
