Ndiraya tells ZPC Kariba coach to respect Dynamos

Dynamos coach Tonderai Ndiraya has told his ZPC Kariba counterpart Godfrey Tamirepi to respect his club after the later criticised how Dembare beat them 1-0 at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.

Tamirepi had likened Dembare’s performance to that of a rugby match saying they won the game because they employed rough tactics.

The visitors endured a frustrating afternoon despite dominating possession while the home team played more defensively, and were a little bit more physical in the second period to preserve the advantage which had been secured on the stroke of half-time by Munyaradzi Mawadza.

Speaking to the press after the match, Ndiraya said: “People need to respect the club, this is Dynamos no matter who is playing.

“We can’t allow people to come here and run over us… I can’t comment much on what the other coach has said, but this is a case of sour grapes. We employed our tactics very well, this is football, not netball and it’s men’s game, there is always contact.”

The result ended Dynamos’ five-match winless run across all competitions. They also climbed to 11th position with seven points.
