Mourinho hails Klopp

Former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho heaped praise on Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after the German saw his side overcome a three-goal deficit to kick Barcelona out of the Champions League at Anfield.

The Portuguese, who was speaking on Bein Sports where he was a guest pundit, said last the Tuesday’s 4-0 victory, which is arguably one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the competition, was all about Klopp.

“This is about him. This is a reflection of his personality, the ‘don’t give up’ and fighting spirit. Everything today is about Jurgen’s mentality,” Mourinho said.

“I just hope he wins the Champions League finally. I think he deserves to make it happen. He is fantastic,” added Mourinho.

Liverpool defied all odds and outplayed their opponents on a night when a few expected them to progress as a result of injuries to star forward Mohamed Salah, his striking partner Roberto Firminho and midfielder Naby Keita.

Braces form Divock Origi and Gini Wijnaldum propelled the Reds to the final in Madrid, where there will face either Tottenham Hotspur or Ajax.
