Mamelodi Sundowns have retained the ABSA Premiership after beating Free State Stars 1-0 in their final game of the season.

Pitso Mosimane needed nothing short of victory to secure the title and Phakamani Mahlambi scored the all important goal in the 44th minute.

Sundowns finish the season with 59 points

Orlando Pirates hammered Polokwane City  3-0 to finish second with 57 points.

Free State Stars have been relegated while Maritzburg United will plan the Premier League play-offs against National First Division sides.
