ZPC Kariba targets first win against Ngezi

ZPC Kariba are hoping Ngezi Platinum’s in-house squabbles will work to their advantage when the two sides clash this afternoon in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match-day 7 at Nyamunga Stadium.

Elroy Akbay’s men have had trouble in their camp and this week fired two seniors players Libert Chakoroma and Simba Nhivi, who were reportedly leading a player strike over unpaid salaries.

The Dutch coach even expressed disappointment in sacking the pair saying it will affect their momentum. He said: “If you get another player now it will take time before he understands what you want. It’s very bad we are missing some of these players.”

Kauya Katuruturu, meanwhile, are coming back from a 1-0 defeat to Dynamos in Tomderayi Ndiraya’s homecoming game last week.

A victory today will end Madamburo’s dominance who are yet to concede a defeat in the six meetings between the two sides.

They are 5th on the table after having won 4 matches and a win will see them go top of the table momentarily in the event that Chicken Inn fails to beat Highlanders.
