ZIFA, PSL on collision over Vengere Stadium

The Zimbabwe Football Association and the Premier Soccer League are at loggerheads over the approval of Vengere Stadium to host Premier League matches.

Zifa’s First Instance Board last week approved the venue which is to be used by Manica Diamonds to host their home league games while some renovations were still being done, but the PSL has quashed the move.

The Premier Soccer League argues that there are still a lot of grey areas at the stadium which needs to be attended to which includes the doping room, the playing surface and the media room.

PSL chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele wrote to Zifa this week highlighting the areas that they want to be addressed before they can sanction matches at Vengere stadium. Last weekend, Manica Diamonds were forced to return to Gibbo Stadium for their match against TelOne.
