Ovidy Karuru believes the Warriors can beat the “big teams” in Group A at the 2019 Afcon finals.
The South Africa-based midfielder is expected to form the core part of the squad that will travel to Egypt next month for the tournament.
Zimbabwe are in the same group as DRC, Uganda and the hosting country.
In an interview with H-Metro, Karuru says the Warriors are capable of collecting a positive result against all of their opponents.
“If you look at it now any team is beatable and of course they have big names but we are not scared of Egypt,” Karuru said.
“We will just go there as underdogs then we will see what we can do.
“DR Congo we have played them before, we know how they play and they will be well prepared and we will also be prepared for them.
“But I am sure we will qualify for the next round for the first time,” he added.
