FC Platinum beat us with the aid of referee: Yadah coach

Yadah coach Genesis Mangombe thinks FC Platinum beat them with the aid of match officials in a league match played on Saturday.

The Stars succumbed to a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of the reigning champions, thanks to a 37th-minute penalty conversion by Devon Chafa after Yadah’s Wellington Kamudyariwa hacked down Ali Sadiki inside the box.

In a post-match interview, Mangombe admitted their opponents have a strong squad, but he thinks the match officials made some bad calls which had an impact on the outcome of the game.

“When you play big teams like FC Platinum you don’t expect to see the match officials taking sides.

“Yes, there is a big difference in terms of the quality of players and everything then adding on the officials’ bias, now it is not football. We played according to our game plan, but the referees decided otherwise,” said the coach.

The result saw FC Platinum moving to the top of the log while Yadah remained in the drop zone on the 15th position.
