The wait continues for Sadomba

When veteran striker Edward “Duduza” Sadomba joined Dynamos during the pre-season, fans of the Glamour Boys anticipated a goal galore for a club whose thirst for titles doesn’t require magnifying glasses to see.

During his old days at De-Mbare, Sadomba was a darling on and off the field, scoring many memorable goals in the process and the fact that he was to be named captain on his return to the club was somewhat inevitable.

After nine rounds of fixtures in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, the 35-year-old is yet to find the back of the net and one would not blame some of the club’s fans who are justifiably pressing the panic button and asking themselves if Duduza is the right man to lead the attack.

Coach Tonderai Ndiraya has come out guns blazing in defence of the former Lybian-based forward, but the fact that a striker, who is also the team’s skipper, has not scored in the opening nine matches, is a concern for any football coach.

As De-Mbare travel to Mandava this weekend for a blockbuster clash with FC Platinum, the Dynamos faithful will be praying that their beloved skipper ends his goal drought and lead the team to a much-needed set of three points.
