Dynamos get rare victory against FC Platinum, as Ngezi beat Chiefs

Dynamos achieved a rare feat at Mandava Stadium after beating FC Platinum at the venue for the first time in seven years.

Jarison Selemani scored the all-important goal in the second half, despite the home team dominating proceedings and creating chances.

The Glamour Boys, on the other end, didn’t see much of the ball and created only three attempts throughout the game.

The match had a cagey start with the first opportunity coming in the 19th minute when Rahman Kustanzira’s header went over. Ali Sadiki and Gift Mbweti followed up a few moments later, but they never brought any threats to break the deadlock.

Dembare only came alive at the opposite end when Selemani and Sadomba got chances which they both fluffed.

FC Platinum continued to dictate the pace but were, however, restricted to get into the box.

Selemani finally opened the scoring on minute 65 against the run of play.

The home team responded with a few attempts, but all went off target as Dynamos managed to hold on and come out of Mandava with a rare victory.

At Luveve, Bulawayo Chiefs’ hopes of completing a comeback faded away when they lost 3-2 to Ngezi Platinum Stars while Black Rhinos edged out Herentals 2-1 in the capital.

Ishmael Wadi netted a hat-trick as Harare City dispatched Hwange 3-0 as Manica Diamonds also registered the same scoreline against Yadah.

Results:
FC Platinum 0-1 Dynamos
Bulawayo Chiefs 2-3 Ngezi Platinum
Black Rhinos 2-1 Herentals
Harare City 3-0 Hwange
Manica Diamonds 3-0 Yadah
