Warriors dedicate remaining Cosafa games to Chidzambwa

The Warriors will dedicate all their remaining games at the Cosafa Cup to coach Sunday Chidzambwa who lost his father on Sunday.

The national team will play Zambia in semifinals and will be without their mentor who has since returned home.

In an interview with NewsDay, Musona expressed his sadness on the development and said the team is determined to win for the coach.

“It’s not a good moment when one of the members in a team loses a loved one, so when we heard the news, there was a moment of sadness,” the captain said.

“We will have to dedicate all the games that we will play, to his father and win for him. So we will fight for him and be there for him in this sad moment. We want to celebrate his father’s life with him.”

Musona also told the newspaper that the whole squad will contribute financially towards the burial of the late Chidzambwa, who died at the age of 98.

Meanwhile, assistant coaches Lloyd Mutasa and Rahman Gumbo will take charge of the remaining Warriors’ matches at the regional tournament.
