Billiat responds if bad form at Chiefs will affect his Afcon campaign

Warriors forward Khama Billiat believes the team can go beyond the group stages at this year’s edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Addressing journalists after Saturday’s COSAFA Cup quarter-final victory over Comoros, the Kaizer Chiefs man said the players have confidence in themselves and the coaches, making progress beyond the group stage highly probable.

“We want to do better than we did last time, we believe in the team, and we believe in the coaches. It’s possible,” said Billiat.

The 28-year-old also reiterate that a bad season at club level does not necessarily reflect on his performance in the Warriors team.

“This is a national team, we have a different philosophy, and we play differently, we understand each other language-wise.”

“It doesn’t matter whether you win the league at club level or not, you will be playing for your country and there is always a better understanding with other players,” he added.
