Warriors striker Tinotenda Kadewere says the team is determined to create a name at the 2019 Afcon tournament which gets underway tonight.

Zimbabwe have failed to go beyond the group stages in their last appearances in the competition. They begin their campaign against the hosts, Egypt in the opening game at Cairo International Stadium.

Speaking to AFP, Kadewere said: “We, as players, we want to make history. We are hoping to make people remember our names.

“We are hoping to make good history, to make people know that Zimbabwe is one of the best countries in Africa.

“We want to make Zimbabwe well known and to do our best. If possible, get to the final.”

Zimbabwe will face Uganda in their second match next week before rounding up the group stage with a date against DRC.
