Long break gave Zimbabwe advantage: Uganda coach

Uganda National Team coach Sebastien Desabre thinks Zimbabwe’s long break gave them the physical advantage in their 1-1 draw on Wednesday.

The Warriors got a five-day rest after their first match of the campaign against Egypt, and were clearly the dominant side in the tie, creating chances and retaining more possession than their opponents.

Speaking after the game, Desabre conceded that the encounter was a difficult one for them.

“It was a difficult game for us, we scored first and after our goal, we didn’t withstand the pressure of this game,” said the Uganda coach.

“Zimbabwe’s goal was logical, there was a lot of physical pressure because we got a day less than Zimbabwe.

“In the second half we changed our organisation, and it was better and I am proud of our players.”

Uganda will now face Egypt on June 30 in their final Group A game.
