Under-fire Pasuwa receives backing from club executive

Zimbabwean coach Callisto Pasuwa has come under fire at his Malawian club Nyasa Big Bullets after the team fell behind in the title race.

Pasuwa’s side is currently in the 5th position after eight games, and the fans are now calling for his dismissal, but the club’s executive has backed the coach.

Speaking to The Times newspaper, Bullets’ Chief Administration Officer Albert Chigoga has urged the supporters to be patient and avoid piling pressure on the technical team and the players.

“We cannot go on like this,” Chigoga said. “It is a situation we can solve collectively.

“It is not a crisis and we are not heading in that direction. This is not the right time for us to start piling pressure on the technical panel.

“We have systems in place to deal with such cases. We cannot expose our coach to public discourse. We need to be sober and patient enough so that if there are ways to solve these problems, we should find them as one team.”

Pasuwa joined the Big Bullets in October last year and went on to win the championship two months later.
