Baroka coach defends Chipezeze

ABSA Premiership side Baroka FC coach Wedson Nyirenda has defended Warriors goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze for his blunders which cost the Warriors against DRC, saying the defence should have covered.

Chipezeze, who replaced George Chigova minutes before kick-off after the latter got injured during warm up, made 3 errors which resulted in goals for the Leopards but Nyirenda believes the Warriors defence should have reacted better.

“He did not expect to start the match after the first choice George Chigova got injured during warm-up. You could see in the way he conceded,” said Nyirenda according to Sowetan.

“If you look at the first goal, where he fumbled the ball, where were the defenders? Two strikers from Congo were the ones who fought for that ball. The defence should have covered,” he added.
