CAF holds press conference, disregards Zim-DRC match-fixing scandal

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) today held a press conference and ignored the controversy sorrounding allegations of match fixing on the Zimbabwe- DRC match last Sunday.

The Warriors lost 4-0 to the Leopards and consequenty crashed out of AFCON 2019 but it was goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze’s catastrophic perfomance, which made more headlines, paving way for reports of alleged match fixing to emerge.

The continental football governing body’s General Secretary Mouad Hajji addressed a press conference in Cairo today and totally disregarded the issue.

Instead, Hajji talked about the expectional organisation of the tournament.

“All the football world are satisfied with the organisation and they say its exceptional. Thanks to the Egyptian government which exerted their utmost effort, I believe this edition is exceptional and I hope it continues on the same level,” he said.
