What South Africa players will get for reaching Afcon quarters

South Africa national team players are set to receive R520 000 (approx. US$39 00) each as a bonus for reaching the quarterfinals of the 2019 Afcon, according to Soccer Laduma.

Bafana Bafana beat hosts Egypt 1-0 on Saturday to progress to the second knockout stage of the tournament where there will meet Nigeria on July 10.

The team can even pocket more money, R670 000 (approx. US$48 000) per player, should they manage to qualify for the semifinals and up to R920 000 (approx. US$65 000) for reaching the final.

At this stage, the South African F.A is guaranteed a hefty US$800,000 windfall from CAF for reaching the quarters, and a US$4 million if they play in the final.
