Belgian and French teams after Divine Lunga – Agent

Top-flight clubs from Belgium and France are targeting to sign Warriors defender Divine Lunga ahead of the 2019/20 season, the player’s agent Gibson Mahachi has revealed.

The left-back had a great campaign at the 2019 Afcon despite missing the final group game against DRC due to an injury.

Mahachi confirmed the news to NewsDay on Friday, but refused to reveal the names of the clubs interested in the player.

“Yes, there are inquiries from clubs in France and Belgium,” said the agent.

“I am currently seized with those inquiries, but I can’t reveal the identity of the clubs at this stage.

“You know some clubs don’t want that until such a time there is something concrete. I will confirm once there is any other development.”

The publication, however, claims Belgian side Genk made initial contact with the Golden Arrows left-back soon after he impressed against Egypt in the Afcon opener on June 21 in Cairo, and are in pole position to get his signature.

Meanwhile, Lunga is not the first player who featured for the national team at the tournament to be linked with a move to Europe.

Another defender Teenage Hadebe is nearing to complete a move to Turkey while Marshall Munetsi joined French Ligue 1 side Reims last month.

Khama Billiat is also a target of several clubs, specifically, based in North Africa.
