Belgian winger Eden Hazard, who recently signed for Spanish giants Real Madrid, has reportedly chosen to wear the number 23 shirt.

The former Chelsea man, who has started pre-season training with Los Blancos, wore the number 10 shirt at both the London club and the Belgium national team, but it is currently worn by Balon do’r holder Luka Modric at Real.

Spanish publication Marca reports that the 28-year-old has chosen the number 23 shirt due to his attachment to the American basketball league, the NBA, where the number is associated with legends like Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

Other suggestions were that Hazard takes the number 7 shirt, which Cristiano Ronaldo wore at Madrid, but it currently belongs to Mariano Diaz.
