Sunday Preview: CLPSL Match-day 14

Highlanders welcome FC Platinum at Barbourfields Stadium this afternoon in Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match-day 14.

The encounter will be the 17th league meeting between the two sides with the visitors, who have of late been dominating their rivals, holding a slight edge in the head-to-head stats.

The Platinum Boys, with six wins in the tie, last lost a match to Bosso in 2014, and since then, they have been getting the better part of their opponents.

Tshilamoya, however, are determined to stop the dominance and help lift themselves from the bottom half of the table. Coach Mandla Mpofu said at his presser on Thursday that his charges are targeting maximum points in the match.

“It’s a game that we want to win at all costs. We can’t take anything besides three points and the boys are focused, they want to win it like yesterday and are training hard. It’s going to be an exciting game and as the technical team we will dig even deeper to come up with a game plan that will make sure we get maximum points,” he said.

In other games on this afternoon, Caps United will see the return of their coach Lloyd Chitembwe to the dugout against Yadah at National Sports Stadium.

Triangle United and TelOne clash at Gibbo Stadium while Mushowani Stars and Herentals lock horns at Trojan in Bindura.
