Agent explains Hadebe’s transfer to Turkey and why Chiefs allowed it

Teenage Hadebe’s agent Mike Makaab has explained the player’s transfer to Turkish club Yeni Malatyaspor and why Kaizer Chiefs did not stand in his way.

The Zimbabwean defender completed his transfer last week and made his club debut on Thursday in a friendly match against Sivasspor.

In an interview with Soccer Laduma, Makaab revealed the European team tabled a good offer which Chiefs couldn’t deny.

“It was a surprise to us as much as it was a surprise to a lot of people. But I have to be honest and say it was a really good offer,” the agent said, though not revealing the fee, which is believed to be around R4-million.

Makaab added that Malatyaspor started scouting Hadebe before the Afcon tournament.

“Zimbabwe didn’t cover themselves in glory, so I am not sure the offer had much to do with the AFCON,” the agent said.

“But it was a fair offer and a good opportunity for the player. He had a long chat with the club and at the end of the day, all parties were happy with the deal.

“I am told they were interested in Teenage before the tournament,” he added.
