ZIFA sets date to decide on Warriors coach

The Zimbabwe Football Association has set a date when it will make a decision on the Warriors coach.

The national team currently has no substantive coach following the resignation of Sunday Chidzambwa last week.

Rahman Gumbo is guiding the team on an interim basis and is being assisted by Lloyd Mutasa.

According to Sunday Mail, ZIFA’s Technical Development Committee will meet on Saturday, August 3 to review the structures of all national teams.

The reviews will be discussed at the next board meeting.

“The technical development committee will meet on the 3rd of August 2019 to review the structures of all national teams’ technical staff,” ZIFA’s statement reads in part.

“The recommendations of the technical development committee will be discussed in the next board meeting for decisions to be made.

“The Association will come up with a national teams’ policy that will guide operations of all our national teams.”

Gumbo’s first assignment in charge is coming this afternoon in the 2020 CHAN Qualifiers, second round tie against Mauritius.
