The confirmation of Marvelous Nakamba’s move to Aston Villa took longer than expected, evidenced by fans of the Premier League returnees showing their frustration on Twitter, the reasons for that delay have now been revealed.

Aston Villa announced Nakamba yesterday much to the delight of both local and the club ‘s faithful and according to The Herald, negotiations regarding financial terms and returns for the player and his handlers delayed the deal.

The publication further revealed that the amount  Villa paid for Nakamba, a reported £12 million, was purely a transanction between the two clubs and no part of that amount was reserved for the player and his representatives, meaning they had to negotiate that with Villa before the deal was made official.

The general norm that a player gets 10% of his transfer fee was not applied in this instance.
