Absa Premiership kicks off, several Zim players in line to make league debuts for new clubs

The Absa Premiership 2019/20 season gets underway this afternoon with several Zimbabwean players in line to make their league debuts after switching to new clubs in the pre-season.

In today’s fixtures, SuperSport United’s new signing Kudakwashe Mahachi will be available for selection against Mamelodi Sundowns. The winger joined the Pretoria-based team in July from Orlando Pirates.

United also have other Zimbabwean players who will be involved in action this afternoon. These include striker Evans Rusike, fullback Onismor Bhasera and reserve goalkeeper Washington Arubi.

Coach Kaitano Tembo will be in the dugout as he begin his second season in charge of SuperSport.

Elsewhere, Chippa United have twins Elvis and Kevin Moyo in their books who joined the side from FC Platinum last month.

Their former team-mate Farai Madhananga will be involved with Bidvest Wits against AmaZulu, a club which also has Zimbabweans in the likes of Talent Chawapiwa, Butholezwe Ncube and Ovidy Kararu.

On Sunday, Gabriel Nyoni will be in line to make his first league appearance at Maritzburg United in the clash with Golden Arrows.

In the Arrows squad, the club recently signed goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda who could also make his debut on the day.
