Zimbabwe’s representatives in the CAF Champions League, FC Platinum, have named their squad for the 2019/20 season.
The Platinum Boys are starting their campaign next week in the preliminary round against Malawian side Nyasa Big Bullets which is coached by Callisto Pasuwa.
The squad has several new names after losing a couple of players in the mid-season transfer windows.
The latest signings include left-back Tawana Chikore, who was recently signed from league debutants TelOne and promising centre back Evidence Tendayi, who joined from Herentals.
Congolese midfielder Guvye Nsiala who arrived at the club last month is also on the list along with Baroka FC loanee Rodwell Chinyengetere.
FC Platinum also registered striker Mkokheli Dube who was in the past weeks reported to have moved to the USA.
Assistant coach Lizwe Sweswe has told NewsDay that they have filled the areas which were left vacant and is also optimistic that their team will excel.
“What is important for this competition is to have enough preparations both physical and physiological. We are working very hard for this tournament as well as the league. With what is already at our disposal, I think we have the strength to reach the group stages and we will continue working hard to achieve this,” Sweswe said.
