We didn’t make Billiat at Sundowns, he has got talent: Pitso Mosimane

Mamelodi Sundows head coach Pitso Mosimane has brushed aside suggestions that the club made Khama Billiat to be the player he is right now, insisting that it’s his talent instead.

The 28-year-old moved from Masandawana to Kaizer Chiefs last year after having won the PSL Footballer of the Year and got nominated for CAF African Footballer of the Year (Local-based) while at the Pretoria-based outfit but Mosimane insists that even though the club “polished” him, it is the talent he has got which made him the player he is today.

“He was given an opportunity and why are you surprised that African teams want him? You know why? Because they saw him play [in the Champions League] and they say that is the product we want, we know what he can do, we’ve seen what he can do,” Mosimane told Kick Off Magazine.

“That’s the contribution we’ve made on him. Of course he’s got talent, it’s not like we made him. He’s got talent, but we also fix them, structure them and make them look good. We polish and make them shine. And then everybody benefits.” he added.

The Zimbabwe international has been subject to interest from various clubs on the continent, including Sundowns, but Mosimane refused to be drawn in the speculation.
