The constant speculation over the future of Khama Billiat at Kaizer Chiefs has left coach Ernst Middendorp very much irritated.
The Zimbabwean winger has in recent weeks been linked with an exit at the Soweto giants and several clubs, both local and foreign, have expressed interest in signing him.
When asked about the future of Billiat, Middendorp appeared irked as he directed media towards the club’s management.
“I don’t want to be part of this speculation. You go there in this moment and ask the management, who are aware of what his [Billiat] contract situation is,” said the coach, according to Kick-Off.com.
“I think the player knows his contract situation, and for me, there’s nothing to discuss.”
The 28-year-old’s absence in the season opener last weekend fueled the speculation despite Chiefs explaining it as an injury precaution.
Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane’s recent comments on Billiat has further suggested that something could be going on behind the scenes.
