Warriors trio likely to miss World Cup Qualifiers

Three Warriors players are likely to miss the national team’s upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers in September.

Zimbabwe will face Somalia in the preliminary round with the first leg scheduled for September 2 and the return leg a week later.

Captain Knowledge Musona, Tendayi Darikwa and Marshall Munetsi are doubts in those matches as they are carrying injuries.

Musona is set to undergo surgery on his ankle in Munich, Germany, according to the Herald.

The Belgian-based forward has been suffering from the injury for some time now.

Munetsi is also set to miss the action following revelations that he sustained a knock during pre-season training at his new French Ligue 1 side Stade Reims.

The midfielder completed his move to Europe in June from South African club Orlando Pirates.

Darikwa is another one of the three Warriors who are likely to be sidelined by injuries ahead of the team’s return to the World Cup qualifiers.

The defender tore his anterior cruciate ligament (knee injury) on the eve of the English Championship season and could be out of action for six to nine months.
