SuperSport United reject Kaizer Chiefs bid for Evans Rusike

SuperSport United CEO Stanley Matthews has revealed the club rejected an offer from Kaizer Chiefs for striker Evan Rusike.

The Zimbabwe international has been on Amakhosi’s radar for a while now, and coach Ernst Middendorp wanted to bring him on board ahead of the new season.

However, according to Matthews, the club rejected Chiefs’ advances since they have no plans to lose their star striker.

“Yes, Chiefs wanted Rusike, but we turned them down,” Matthews told IOL.

“We are not looking to sell any of our forwards. We are looking to buy strikers.”

Meanwhile, SuperSport added another Zimbabwean in their squad – Kudakwashe Mahachi who joined the side last month from Orlando Pirates.
