Fifa appoints emergency committee to run Egyptian football

Fifa has appointed a temporary committee to take over Egyptian football following the sudden departure of Hani Abou Rida last month.

Abou Rida, along with the entire board, resigned as the president of the Egyptian FA after the senior men’s team crashed out of the 2019 African Cup of Nations on home soil.

The technical staff also stepped down from their positions.

The members of the new board include Mohamed Fadl, who was chief executive of the 2019 Nations Cup organising committee.

The normalisation committee will run the daily affairs of the EFA and organise and conduct elections of a new EFA board. Its tenure will end in July 2020.
