Ronaldo explains why he left Real Madrid

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has broken the silence on the actual reasons why he left Real Madrid to join Juventus.

The five-time World Player of the Year left the  Spanish giants last year after a nine year stay in which he won 4 Champions League titles as well as 2 Laliga crowns and many questioned his decision to join the Old Lady.

In an interview with Portuguese channel TVI however, the 34-year-old did open up.

“At Real Madrid I was too comfortable, I had already won so much that each new title was just one more, and the routine always the same,” he explained.

“I don’t like being in the comfort zone,” he added.

Admittedly though, Ronaldo revealed that leaving Los Blancos was not any easy decision.

“Obviously leaving Real Madrid was difficult because I spent nine years, 60% of my career was there, so you feel it. But I came to a different challenge and I’m very happy to be here (Juventus). I wanted a new challenge.” he said.
