Pasuwa outlines differences between Zim and Malawian leagues

Nyasa Big Bullets coach Callisto Pasuwa has outlined the differences between the Zimbabwean league and that of Malawi.

The 49-year-old gaffer is back in the country to play FC Platinum in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

His men need an away goal and avoid conceding twice in order to progress to the first round of the competition.

The match will be played this afternoon at 3 pm at Barbourfields Stadium.

Speaking at a presser ahead of the encounter, the former Dynamos coach said the Zimbabwean league is more professional in many aspects than the Malawian one.

“In Zimbabwe, I think they are better than the Malawian side, and it’s to do with the playing surface and the timing of the games,” said Pasuwa.

“In Malawi, we can play two games on Saturday and Sunday despite travelling up to 600 km. The recovery time for the players will be very short. They have the talent but there are few clubs that are on the professional level.

“But here at home (Zim), I have seen many clubs with good grounds where they can play build-ups from the back and going forward.”

Pasuwa won the championship four times in Zimbabwe before joining Bullets last year and went on to triumph again in his debut season.
