Olympics Qualifiers: Mighty Warriors depart for Zambia by road

Mighty Warriors have left the country for their Olympics qualifier against Zambia scheduled for Wednesday.

The women’s national team is travelling to the north of Zambezi by road after Zifa introduced austerity measures meant to reduce spending.

The match, which is a first leg of the second round tie, will be played at 3 pm in Lusaka with the return fixture set for 1 September at the National Sports Stadium.

Coach Sithethelelwe Sibanda named an 18-member squad which contains several players that featured at the COSAFA Championships.

Lincie Mpaya, Talent Mukwanda, Erina Jeke and Shamiso Mutasa are the only new faces in the selection.
