Plenty to ponder for Antipas after first Warriors selection

Warriors coach Joey Antipas named his first Warriors team today and there is plenty to ponder for the recently appointed coach.

The Warriors gaffer selected a seemingly strong squad to face Somalia in the 2022 World Cup qualifier preliminary round with familiar and new faces combined.

Any level-headed Warriors fan would agree that the goalkeeping issue was the biggest question. After Elvis Chipezeze’s disastrous AFCON campaign, many had their eyes peeled to see if the Baroka shot-stopper would be called, which he did, now all awaits to see if gets the number 1 spot.

Considering form be that as it may, Antipas’ decision might be an unpopular one but it is a justifiable one. Chipezeze has had many man-of -the -match performances for Baroka which the former Motor Action coach could not ignore.

Many would also want to see how it goes without inspirational skipper Knowledge Musona, who still hasn’t played club football for his Belgian side RSC Anderlecht. In that regard, the captain issue still hangs in the balence, Antipas will have to name a captain considering that Musona was not called.
