Dynamos survive late scare as CAPS United edge Rhinos

Dynamos survived a late scare as they picked maximum points against Herentals at Rufaro Stadium on Wednesday.

The Glamour Boys conceded two late goals on their way to winning the match 3-2.

Godknows Murwira opened the scoring as early as in the 1st minute, firing home from the edge of the box. Evans Katema doubled the advantage on minute 21 before Nigel Katawa stretched the lead four minutes into the second half.

The Students tried to launch a late comeback but the goals of Archford Majarira in the 90th minute and a penalty in the added time by Alfred Gona were not enough as it ended 3-2.

Across the city, John Zhuwawu scored a late winner in CAPS United’s 2-1 win over Black Rhinos.

The Green Machine went into the lead through Newman Sianchali just after the half-hour but Francesco Zikumbawire equalised for Rhinos on minute 54.

Zhuwawu restored the hosts’ lead with a header with only five minutes to full-time.

At the Colliery, Hwange and FC Platinum shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, but the Zvishavane side was left with ten men following Gift Mbwete’s second booking in the second half.

Elsewhere, Ngezi Platinum Stars had their coach Erol Akbay also sent off as the team went on to lose 2-0 to Chicken Inn.
