Highlanders coach comments on exit reports

Highlanders coach Mandla Mpofu says he is not losing hope amid rumours that he is facing a sacking at the club.

Bosso lost their third consecutive match on Thursday, going down 2-1 at the hands of Triangle United.

The Bulawayo giants are now sitting one place above the drop zone with 23 points.

According to reports, Mpofu now needs to collect maximum points against Mushowani Stars and Hwange to save his job.

“I don’t despair, I don’t lose hope. The performance is something I can control and today I have to appreciate what my guys did.

“This is the industry where we rely on results, the most important thing is can I channel all the energy that I have into the team and see if they play well and win games.

“If I am not a good coach I will go and if I am a good coach I will stay with the team,” said Mpofu, according to the Herald.

Meanwhile, United got their goals from Allan Tavarwisa and Ralph Kawondera while Nqobizita Masuku secured the consolation for the visitors.
